About Sunshine Coast Racetrack.
Feature Races, Barriers Info & Starting Positions:
The club hosts over 70 meetings a year including most Sundays and night racing on Fridays. Major meetings are held in January for the Sunshine Coast Cup and June for the Caloundra Cup.
The racetrack at Sunshine Coast has only been open since 1985 and provides two tracks for racing and an additional training track. The main turf track is approx. 1950 metres and shows very little bias due to the chutes at most starts and the long front and back straight. Barriers are not a major concern. Inside this is the Cushion Track (an all weather artificial track) with a circumference of 1760 metres, generally a fair track giving all starters a chance and the 400m final straight allows leaders or backmarkers to show their best.
