About Sale Racetrack.
Feature Race, Barriers Info & Starting Positions:
Sale Racecourse holds 21 meetings a year including the Sale Cup in October, usually on the Sunday after the Cox plate
A triangular track of around 2000m circumference, with a final straight of around 400 metres, the 1000m and 1200m starts are in a chute giving a good long run up to the final corner. The 1400m start is on the back straight just before the turn into the short side straight and can affect the outcome of a race with an apparent leader bias and advantage to horses drawn in. Generally a fair course for all runners and a long enough final straight for backmarkers to get into the finish.
