Race 6 Hcp 1200m.
Murphys Reward is going well, they have taken a claiming apprentice to get some of the weight off his back but going OK. Handsome Thief is very consistent and suited on a dry track. Sheriff John Stone has a good strike rate and is a last start winner. Just Hifalutin has placed twice here, down in weight in open class.
Summary: Handsome Thief ($3.4) is the one to beat, place hopes Murphys Reward ($11), Sheriff John Stone ($7) and Just Hifalutin ($5.5).
Race 7 Inglis Dash 1100m.
Onehundred Percent ran on late to win at Caulfield, racing well. Prezado has gone well down the straight in the past. Nature Strip is the likely leader and might be hard to catch. Bravo Tango has been hard to fault in 3 runs.
Summary: Nature Strip ($1.55) ahead of Onehundred Percent ($11), Prezado ($6) & Bravo Tango ($14).
Race 8 Kensington Stakes 1000m.
Amber Sky is an 8yo Hong Kong import who is reported to be working well, might pay to watch but need to include in multiples. Lord Of The Sky had a good win in the Standish. Saracino hasn’t fired in Australia yet but has recently had some serious gear changes (gelded). Thermal Current hasn’t been far away in 4 runs this time, might be due a change of luck. Husson Eagle resumes and can go well fresh, good record this t/d.
Summary: Thermal Current ($4.6) is going to start being expensive to follow if he doesn’t find the winners stall soon, many other chances in a relatively small field but will include Amber Sky ($4.6), Lord Of The Sky ($7), Saracino ($7.5) and Husson Eagle ($5.5) in the Quaddie.
Race 9 Hcp 1400m.
Wise Hero is a last start winner at this t/d. Curragh will be better suited over more ground but does like to win first up. Kings Command has placed twice at this t/d and fitter now 3rd up, looks suited here. Malaise has also placed at this t/d but at Group 3 level, might be the best of them. The Avenger is a last start winner at Caulfield, this is harder but include amongst the chances.
Summary: Malaise ($4.8) ahead of Wise Hero ($3.7), chances to Curragh ($9.5), Kings Command ($11) and The Avenger ($5.5).
Have a good weekend, happy punting.
