Flemington Race 6 3yo Hcp 1100m.
Early betting is focused on the first four in racebook order, Brave Song ($3.5) returns a gelding and has placed at Group level. Ducimus ($5) has a win at this track & distance, disregard the previous when had problems and go on the start before. Kennedy ($7.5) disappointed the majority of punters when well down the track at Caulfield, perhaps better suited here on a bigger track. Order Of Command ($3.3) was finishing fast behind the talented Nature Strip and is the one to beat here.
Flemington Race 7 Murray Cox 3yo Hcp 1600m.
Mr Money Bags ($4.8) is up in weight after a win here last start, well in this if he continues to go as well. Night Falls ($2.9) won his last 2 on wet tracks and is an on pace runner who isn’t going to get it all his own way here from barrier 8, chance. Streets Of Avalon ($3.7) is no value in the early market, also first try at the mile so prepared to risk. Limekilns ($7) does have a win at this distance, tongue-tie goes on and can see him running on into a place. Is Don Is Good ($27) won his maiden over this trip and had respiratory issues last start so might pay to overlook that run, value for the multiples.
Flemington Race 8 Open Hcp 2000m.
Pacodali ($6) beat Sixties Groove at Caulfield and is a winner over this course. Mortons Fork ($10) has been a bit one paced in his last few runs, perhaps the extra distance will suit. Trap For Fools ($9.5) ran third to Pacodali last start and gets a weight drop here, longer trip will assist. Sixties Groove ($2.3) meets Pacodali with more weight than when he was defeated at Caulfield, going well enough to be in the finish again. Sayed ($10) knocked up as the beaten favourite and prepared to forgive that run, back in distance here and has a good record when brought to this track. Jaameh ($15) had one Australian run over this distance and returned to the stables for another spell a winner, probably better over even longer but must include in the exotics.
Flemington Race 9 Open Hcp 1000m.
Rocket Tommy ($5.5) might have had a case of “second-up syndrome” last start, or not, previous win here was sound. Invincible Al ($3.8) had a comfortable win at Morphettville last start, winner at this t/d. Wise Hero ($4.4) caught interference in the concluding stages last start, should be suited here on a bigger track. Nordic Empire ($7) gets a weight drop with the rise in grade and looks a chance if he holds form.
Have a good weekend, happy punting.
