Top Racing Links:
Flemington Sat. 18 Jan. 2020. Prices from Sportsbet Saturday morning.
Race 6 Handicap 1400m.
Tricky start to the Quaddie. Turn The Tide ($5) wasn’t far away last start and down in weight a little here, usually in the mix. Smart Elissim ($14) will be fitter now third up, should be ready to show something here. Tigger ($15) has been racing well at his home track and deserves a shot in the city, hard to fault winning form. Fabric ($3.6) resumes, might prefer in mares grade but can’t leave out. Vongole ($10) has put in a couple of good runs since resuming, might be running on late on a track I suspect might favour the leaders but have to consider for the multiples.
Race 7 Handicap 2520m.
The Lord Mayor ($4.5) is aiming to replicate the last start when won under similar conditions. El Don ($5) won the Bagot last start, this is no harder. High Bridge ($2) just missed in the Bagot, looking for redemption. Naval Warfare ($6.5) led and was caught in the Bagot, conditions could favour him this time.
Race 8 Handicap 1200m.
Flying Krupt ($13) fought on last start and has placed at this track & distance, fitter now third up. Chicago Cub ($8.5) seems to go well here, last start winner. Clarice Cliffs ($3.6) is second up, has plenty of ability but this isn’t an easy task. Viral ($26) is up in class but going well at the provincials, try each-way. Montenegro Man ($4) had a lovely ride at Caulfield, different circumstances here down the straight but drawn towards the outside rail which could be an advantage. Remastered ($7) ran on late to win this t/d last start, this it tougher.
Race 9 Handicap 1800m.
Maliseet ($13) won at this t/d start with a front running performance, repeat? Saddle The Sun ($20) placed here 3 starts back, faded at Caulfield after being taken to the lead and could be better suited here. Donndubhan ($7.5) is another likely to race on the pace, rarely far away. Diplomac Jack ($16) never had a chance at Caulfield when posted wide throughout, back in trip so look to the 4th here back in November over a mile. Bill The Bee ($3.10) likes to lead and has been suited to the Valley, racing well but one of many chances. Ignitor ($8) just missed at this t/d last start, including again.
Good luck & happy punting!
