The All-Star Mile was launched in 2019 as a unique event by Racing Victoria with the co-operation of the states three metropolitan racing clubs. The richest race over 1600m in the world, 10 of the 14 runners in the field will be determined by the votes of racing fans. One lucky voter will be assigned to each runner in the race and become a nominal owner for that horse for a share in the prizemoney.
The location of the race is rotated annually around the Melbourne Metro race clubs. The inaugural event was held at Flemington Racecourse in 2019 with the second being at Caulfield and the third at Moonee Valley.
